Vintage Car Rally Association
IRS 501(c)3 #27-0722024
Since 2006 the Vintage Car Rally Association (VCRA), a U.S. 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has donated over $785,000 to selected Schools, Educational Programs and Institutions serving kids and adults with Autism. As the VCRA has pledged, ALL donations received are in turn donated to programs in need!
The VCRA was formed with 2 distinct purposes:
1. To provide a unique forum for antique, vintage, classic and sports car enthusiasts to compete in controlled speed/ timed / distance rally competition that would test the skills and endurance of both man and machine, classed by the experience levels of the competitors and the age of the vehicles, to assure a level playing field for all.
2. To be a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that will donate all proceeds to charity, namely Autism organizations, schools and chapters in need.
In keeping with those goals, since 2006 the VCRA has raised and donated over $785,000 including:
The Vista School, Hershey, PA: The VCRA donated $45,000 to purchase a slightly used van and soundproof classroom dividers. This program enables students with Autism to get into the community for job training and employment, as well as create quit spaces within classrooms.
ASD Hope Inc, The Woodlands, TX: The VCRA donated $29,009 to fully fund a complete classroom with all electronic and sensory equipment to make it possible for a much needed expansion of the program. They will now be able to expand and accept new students.
Bridgeway Academy, Columbus, Ohio: The VCRA donated $20,100 to the Bridgeway Academy, a full-day private school that currently serves 180 students from 9 counties and 28 school districts. This donation fully funded a mobile technology lab to be utilized in the Secondary School and Therapy Center and to compliment Bridgeway Academy's transitional services and Vocational Skills Program. In simple terms, it will instruct kids to cope with every day life and learn skills necessary to perhaps be employable in the future.
Giant Steps of St. Louis, Maplewood, MO: The VCRA donated $15,300 to Giant Steps due to their new Student Vocational Program. They provide an integrated program of therapeutic, educational and one-on-one support to school-aged children with Autism. Giant Steps wants students to become self-sufficient once they graduate and leave the classrooms. The VCRA donation will fully fund a variety of items to equip the Vocation Lab/Classroom.
Paths to Independence, Bartlesville, OK: The VCRA donated $10,850 to fully fund the purchase of 8 new computers, 2 new projectors, 10 I-pads and all the necessary software.
The Lionheart School, Alpharetta, GA: The VCRA donated $9,000 to fully outfit one classroom with the technology needed to make the program progress. The Lionheart School's WORKS program has double in size this past year. Why? It is a vocational education program that provide individuals, 18 and older, with customized work experiences while teaching basic employment skills. The curriculum is designed to teach independence and communication; matching educational strengths with work-related activities.
Families of Autistic Children of Tidewater (F.A.C.T.), Virginia Beach, VA: The VCRA donated $3,000 help provide social and recreational programs specifically for individuals with Autism spectrum disorders. They now serve more than 400 individuals, and one key factor is they focus on our veterans families that have children with Autism.
F.A.C.T., Virginia Beach, VA: The VCRA continues to support F.A.C.T. by donating $7,465. Among other works this program allows 1 on 1 staffing for those kids on outings in the general public who do not fully understand signs of danger, have limited communication skills and may be prone to wander.
Sherwood Center, Kansas City, MO: The $12,000 donation from the VCRA totally funded a new sensory classroom complete with equipment including sensory items, bubble panels, ten (10) I-Pads w/ earphones and study centers.
Sunshine School, Searcy, AR: The VCRA donated $10,180 to this 501(c)3 nonprofit school to purchase 10 computers, software, printers and sensory items necessary to address communication and sensory issues.
Larned School District, Larned KS: This public school serves a huge territory in western Kansas that has no support programs available for children affected with autism. VCRA is providing funding that will purchase all items such as fine motor /gross motor/auditory/ tactile, visual and outdoor equipment to fully fund a sensory program for children with autism.
The Lionheart School, Alpharetta, GA: The VCRA donated $25,000 to allow their programs continue to be integral parts of “Lionhearts For Life”, which involves the community in preparing students for post-school success and future employment placements.
Paths to Independence, Bartlesville, OK: The VCRA donated $9,000 to assist this accredited PK-12 private school to continue to provide instruction in all areas including communication, social skills, recreation and, of great importance, independent living to Autistic kids.
F.A.C.T., Virginia Beach, VA: The VCRA donated $6,500 to support the hundreds of kids with autism, especially children of military families. We see it as our responsibility to assist them with an ongoing support system as they continue their excellent work.
Highland Park Central, Topeka, KS: The VCRA donated $1,000 as a pilot program for VCRA to a public school that is in dire need of sensory items to support the children there that are affected with autism.
